Free eyesight tests for all children

Children are never too young to have their sight tested and should have their eyes checked once every two years unless your optician suggests more frequent visits.

Under the NHS an eye examination is available free of charge for all children up to the age of 16, and up to the age of 19 if they are in full time education.

Babycare giant Bumbo is recalling 4 million seats in the US after children tumbled out and fractured their skulls. The foam seats are not being recalled in the UK, but if you have bought one you can get a free safety kit including straps, instructions and a warning sticker from TOMY (the UK distributor).
